Clinical Trials

This site has been in operation for over twenty-five years and has conducted over 130 clinical trials in various categories. We have in our employ Sub-Investigators, Study Co-ordinator and Study Nurse who are all fully conversant with clinical trials and proficient and qualified with GCP requirements.
The site is fully equipped for clinical trials which include fridges, freezer, centrifuge, dedicated lock up drug facility (temperature controlled) and monitoring amenities. We are also equipped with emergency facilities, i.e. crash trolley, IV etc. Our practice is based in Midrand and within 5km’s of Carstenhof Hospital in case of emergencies. Dr Jacovides has been the Principal Investigator for all trials and has trained in excess of ten Doctors to become Sub-Investigators and Principal Investigators for their own studies. We regularly monitor student interns from WITS and although not involved in studies, are given a comprehensive insight into clinical trials. This site strongly believes in the ethical principle of primun non nocere (First, Do No Harm) which guides clinical trials.
